Project Details
The historic dam at Blackman Stream was blocking fish access to the pond above.
Construct a fish ladder to allow returning fish access above the dam. A series of holes were drilled in the ledge to create a channel and then excavated. Cobblestone weirs were built in the slope and at the top a concrete denil fish pass was installed. The visual integrity of the historic dam was retained with a stone application to the concrete of the fishladders. In addition, a water control gate for the saw mill was constructed; a failing stone spillway repairs and bridges over the pools and weirs were constructed.
