Falmouth, Maine (March 2020) Rip Rap Revetment

Walsh Engineering, DEP, Army Corps of Engineers, Town of Falmouth, Miranda Winters (Horticulture), Bayside Custom (Fabricator of Stainless Steel Railings, not shown).

Project Details

Failing slope with massive slides and very soft clay. Multiple sand lenses with water seeping down slope.

A stone revetment was built at the toe of the slope using 3’- 4’ rip-rap rock. Re-graded upper portions of the slope. A curtain drain was added to relieve the water pressure on top of the slope. Granite access stairs were built. Bayside Custom designed, built and installed stainless steel railing. Miranda Winters consulted and oversaw the planting of native vegetation. The existing granite patio was removed and reset. Site clean-up was completed with loam and re-seeded.
